Jersey, a period sports drama is a Telugu film directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri and starring Nani in the lead. And if recent reports are anything to go by, then the film all set to be remade in Tamil with Vishnu Vishal (a former Ranji player himself) reprising Nani's role from the original, which was about a dejected Ranji player from the 80s giving a second shot at his career in cricket.

Though there are no official announcements, it is being said that Telugu actor Rana Dagubatti will be producing the Tamil remake. And if Vishnu's casting is materialized, this will be his second cricket-based drama film after Jeeva, a 2014 film where he played a national-team aspiring cricketer stopped by caste politics in the field.

Jersey on the other hand, was recently in the news for Karan Johar grabbing the film's Hindi remake rights. While it is suggested that actor Shahid Kapoor might be playing lead in the Hindi version, an official announcement on the same is awaited.
