Simbu to play lead in MR Radha Biopic?

Latest buzz within the Tamil film industry is that actor Simbu (STR) will be playing lead in the legendary Tamil actor M.R. Radha's biopic, which was recently announced by his grandson director Ike. Reportedly Arvind Swamy is also likely to play MGR in this film and the movie will focus largely on the dynamics between M.R. Radha and MGR.

However some reports also suggest that nothing is official as yet and the project is too early in its stage to talk about the casts.

To the unknown, actors M.R. Radha and then upcoming politician MGR were involved in a scandalous gun-shoot in 1967, when they both met for a movie discussion in the presence of film producer K.K. Vasu. Allegedly, M.R. Radha carried a pistol with him and shot MGR and then himself following which they were both rushed to the hospital and a full-blown media monitored court trail began.

That year, MGR's party DMK defeated Congress by an impressive margin and it is believed that the image of an injured MGR which was used during the election campaign contributed significantly to the results.
