Balaji Mohan directed Maari 2 is gearing up for a release on December 21, 2018 and at this time, a compilation of TV spots used for the promotion of the film has been released. In one of these spots, Dhanush is seen calling actor Krishna 'his deva' and himself 'Krishna's Suriya', a reference to the famous Deva-Suriya characters played by Mammootty and Rajinikanth in Mani Ratnam's cult film Thalapathi.
The team also unveiled a deleted scene from the movie which is a funny interaction between Maari's sidekicks:
