2.0 Preview - SWOT Analysis
Touted as India's pride and the biggest VFX wonder, director Shankar's 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar is all set to storm into the movie halls tomorrow. Here's a quick SWOT analysis of the film:
Strengths
- 2.0 is hitting the screens following Enthiran's humongous success. Technically, this can only get better with a much bigger budget and adoption of many new cutting-edge technologies like native 3D camera and SRL 4D sound.
- The movie boasts of the biggest starcast ever for a pan Indian film with 2 major leading stars -- Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. Their presence is sure to ensure an earth-shattering opening not only in India, but also across the globe.
Weakness
- There seems to be nothing on paper.
Opportunities
- Shankar sets the bar higher with every one of his movies. Many theatres in Tamil Nadu are upgrading their screens and sound systems for screening 2.0. Also, Enthiran had set several box office records earlier, which 2.0 is expected to comfortably surpass.
- Given the extensive technical expertise that has gone into the project, the movie might set new benchmarks on the technical front, overhauling blockbuster Baahubali.
Threats
- AR Rahman's songs aren't runaway chartbusters unlike the earlier albums of Shankar-AR Rahman combo. The tracks might work out with the visuals, but that's still to be seen.
- The trailers and posters focus more on the technical brilliance. The production team has highlighted the grandeur and intentionally did not showcase the human elements of the movie. The human angle, which struck a chord with the audience in Enthiran, is still to be explored by the audience in 2.0.
- Will the computer graphics and make-up of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar overpower the real actors underneath? We will know the answer in a few hours.
To sum up, 2.0 is a must-watch on the big screens for the sheer efforts that have gone into making it.
