Superstar Rajinikanth's hugely anticipated 2.0 (2 Point 0) is set to hit the screens on November 29, 2018. The film is gearing up for a massive release worldwide and the pre-release business is red hot in the trade. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the film made on a humongous budget of Rs. 600 cr has done record business in all territories. The estimated pre-release business is Rs. 560+ cr.
Director Shankar's sci-fi extravaganza 2.0 has been sold out in the neighbouring states in South India for whopping price. NVR Cinema has bagged the distribution rights in AP / TG for Rs. 70 cr. NM Entertaiment who released Baahubali 2 in Karnataka have acquired the distribution rights of 2.0 as well. Kerala distribution rights has been sold to Tomichan Mulakupadam for a huge record price of Rs 14.5 cr.
Zee Television has bagged the satellite rights of Tamil, Hindi and Telugu for Rs. 110 cr while Amazon Prime has acquired the satellite rights for all three languages at Rs. 54 cr. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, has acquired the Hindi rights of the film. Lyca Productions is likely to self-distribute the film in Tamil Nadu and Overseas markets. The TN distribution rights is estimated to be around 90 - 100 cr while overseas rights is said to be Rs. 100 cr.

With the worldwide theatrical rights sales estimated to be around Rs. 400 cr, 2.0 has exceeded the pre-sales record of mega blockbuster 'Baahubali 2' which was sold for Rs. 350 cr (theatricals) and Rs. 440 cr including satellite, digital and audio rights. The film is expected to shatter all previous records and create new Box Office milestones.
Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson starrer 2.0 is the sequel of the 2010 film 'Enthiran'. The film has been making a huge buzz ever since its announcement. AR Rahman has scored the music. In 2.0, Rajinikanth will reprise his Enthiran role as Dr Vaseegaran and the robot Chitti. The film also marks Akshay's debut in the Tamil film industry.
