Vishwaroopam 2 is a disaster at the Box Office

Kamal Haasan starrer Vishwaroopam 2, the hugely anticipated spy thriller which hit the screens on August 10, 2018 has failed to create a mark at the Box Office. The film opened to mixed reviews and had managed to collected only Rs. 25 crore at the Domestic Box Office in its opening weekend for all three versions.

Vishwaroopam 2 did not live up to the hype of its first installment. The narrative style and infusing many scenes from the first part 'Vishwaroopam' failed to kindle the interest among the audience. The film couldn't sustain the momentum and has turned out to be a disaster at the Box Office.

The film's business saw a sharp decline at the end of the opening weekend right from Day 4. The film has lost most of its main screens at the end of Week 1. It has grossed around Rs. 34 crore in 10 days. According to the trade, the film is a box office failure. The Hindi version Vishwaroop 2 earned around Rs. 1.5 crore in its opening weekend and the film's poor performance has caused severe loss to Reliance Entertainment, who acquired the distribution rights of the Hindi version.

Unlike the blockbuster Vishwaroopam which hit the screens in 2013, Vishwaroopam 2 has been a disappointing sequel. The film's below average business is sure to have an impact on Kamal Haasan's upcoming project Indian 2 to be directed by Shankar considering the saleability factor of the actor despite his mass appeal.
