In India,  OTT video service platforms have garnered a lot of traction among the internet-using population and the latest to gain prominence among the already existing list of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Voot, etc is Viu. The Hong-based Viu is already a familiar name with the Hindi and Telugu audience and now they have expanded their footprint in India by including the Tamil audience as well.

Recently, the video streaming service launched Viu Tamil and director Venkat Prabhu is one of the names that the company has partnered with for their Tamil content. Venkat Prabhu has directed a short-film titled Masha Allah Ganesha, which is about religious and communal harmony, with the Hindu-Muslim riots in Mumbai as the background.

AP International Films, directors Sameer Bharat Ram and Nandhini JS, Trendaloud and noted YouTube content producers Black Sheep and Fully Filmi are some of the other names who have partnered with Viu for Viu Tamil.
