Prakash Raj, Shraddha Srinath among 50 celebrities 'outraged' with AMMA's decision of reinstating Dileep!

As reported by us earlier, the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA)'s decision to reinstate actor Dileep who is an accused in actress sexual assault and abduction case, is only facing scathing opposition from all quarters and the latest to express their 'outrage and disappointment' to AMMA is the Kannada Film Industry (KFI) and Film Industry for Rights and Equality (FIRE). Around 50 members from these organizations have addressed a letter to AMMA which reads,

“With issues like women’s safety and gender equality being at the forefront of national debate, our cinema industries have strong responsibilities to blaze exemplary trails for the rest of society. We of KFI and FIRE ask that AMMA immediately revoke its decision to reinstate Mr. Dileep until all charges are cleared and uphold the moral compasses that our film industries at their best possess. We anticipate swift, sincere action from AMMA, upon which we intend to join hands in building safe and healthy working environments for all our industry personnel,”

This letter was signed by around 50 people from the film industry which included names like actors Prakash Raj, Shraddha Srinath, Sruthi Hariharan, Rakshit Shetty, Meghna Raj among others.

On the other hand, the emergency executive decision meeting which was demanded of AMMA by WCC (Womens's Collective in Cinema) members Revathy, Parvathy and Padmapriya, has been agreed to by the organization though a date of meeting still remains to be decided.
