Rajinikanth's Kaala hit the screens worldwide on June 7. The film received positive reviews from audience and critics alike and has been doing good business at the Box Office as well. Kaala has emerged as the highest opening weekend grosser in Chennai. The film has collected Rs. 6.64 cr in 4 days.

Kaala has picked up momentum at the Box Office on day 2 and 3 following positive reviews. Kaala holds the record for the highest opening day collection in Chennai. It has collected around Rs. 20+ crore in India on its opening day. Kaala is having a strong hold at the Box Office and has done good business at the Overseas market as well. 

Kaala has joined the club of $1 Million in USA. It is the fourth movie of  Rajinikanth to achieve this feat after Enthiran -The Robot, Lingaa and Kabali. Kaala is doing extremely well in Australia and has become the second biggest opener, after 'Padmaavat'. 

Directed by Pa Ranjith, 'Kaala's is a political drama and revolves around a Dharavi-based don called Karikalan played by Rajini, who fights for the underprivileged people. The film also stars Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar, Pankaj Tripathi and Eswari Rao in important roles. Kaala has music by Santhosh Narayanan and is produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films.
