Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu & CBFC open up a pandora's box in Tamil film industry!

That Santhosh P Jayakumar directed Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu(IAMK) is Tamil industry's first explicit adult comedy in years and that it is not meant for family audience is something one would have heard a lot in recent days. Since the earlier teasers and trailers of the movie revealed that the concept of this film was partially inspired from a Youtube film called Handjob Cabin (where a ghost takes over the lives of 4 friends stuck in a cabin, to overcome its celibacy), jokes and memes had started coming in way before the film's release and a slight unrest among movie-goers was expected.

And as predicted, the backlashes and oppositions have started coming in, except it is a furore. While film personalities like director Bharathi Raja, producer JSK Sathish, Vijay Milton and a few others have blamed the Censor Board aka the CBFC for letting such a film even reach theatre screens, Apsara Reddy – an activist who is aligned with an LGBT organization called ‘Chennai Dost’ has launched a protest campaign against the film stating that the scenes depicting gay/homosexual individuals and even women is objectionable and offensive to the community as a whole. (She has demanded an apology from both Gautham and his director).

However, a few others have either maintained a neutral stance or spoken for the movie justifying the need of this genre or a director's creative freedom.
Admist all this the film is doing extremely well at the box office and has managed to gross Rs. 1.4 Crore in 3 days of its release. And it looks like the film will continue its good spell too.Produced by Blue Ghost Pictures in association with Studio Green, IAMK also starrs Vaibhavi Shandilya, Yashika, Chandrika Ravi among others.
