Madras High Court lifts interim ban on Vijay Antony's Kaali

Update: Fathima Vijay Antony updated through her twitter page today that court has lifted the ban on the film Kaali

In a startling new development, actor Vijay Antony who was heard promoting his movie Kaali with interviews to radio stations has been slapped with a settlement bill of Rs. 4.73 crore to be paid by April 11, 2018 and an interim ban on the release of his upcoming film by the Madras High Court. The order we hear was passed after Alexander, whose Picture Box Company distributed Vijay Antony's Annadurai filed legal suit for the losses incurred from the film. According to reports, Alexander initially had an arrangement with Vijay Antony and his wife Fathima over the losses incurred, by agreeing to buy Kaali for a lesser rate as compensation. But owing to the ongoing TFPC Strike, the arrangement could not be implemented and hence the distributor had to resort to court to enable alternate mode of payment.

Kaali is directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and has Vijay Antony playing a double role - one of a father and other of a son. The film is produced by Fatima Vijay Antony under the banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation and is currently waiting to release post the TFPC Strike.
