Kadal actress Lakshmi Manchu in Jyothika's Tumhari Sulu remake

 

The news of Jyothika starring in the Tamil remake of Vidya Balan starrer Tumhari Sulu was made official recently. Now, buzz is that Kadal actress Lakshmi Manchu will be seen reprising Neha Dhupia's role from the original, playing Jyothika's boss in the remake. However there has been no official announcement on the same. Tumhari Sulu had Vidya playing a school drop-out home-maker, who finds her calling being a Radio Jockey while managing a husband undergoing mid-life crisis, a kid at the brim of teenage and constantly undermining family members. Neha Dhupia plays the head of the Radio station who ends up spotting the talent in her.
 
The yet untitled Tamil remake will be directed by Radha Mohan and produced by G. Dhananjayan. The technical crew of this film includes Mahesh Muthuswami for cinematography and Praveen K.L. for the edits.

Update (March 3, 2018) 
Lakshmi Manchu has confirmed in a recent interview that she has indeed been taken on board for the film. Talking about her role, she was quoted as saying, "I haven't seen the original yet but heard a lot of good reviews...The characterisation will be the same. You will see me play the head of a radio station.."
