Akshay Kumar starrer Padman hit theatre screens today and as an ode to the film, Chennai-based theatre group SPI Cinemas took a 'Padman Challenge' of their own and announced that starting this day (February 9, 2018), free napkin vending machines will be found at Sathyam cinemas, a popular theatre screen owned by the group. They have also added that these sanitary napkin dispensing machines would be made available in all their properties, in the weeks to follow! It is worth mentioning here that SPI cinemas recently gave their pop-corn tubs a new makeover (image below) by including the work of differently abled artists on them.

Given that the point of the on-going Padman challenge is to break the taboos related to Sanitary Napkins, Pads and Periods, such an initiative by a well known firm like SPI does call in for laurels. And their idea of starting with a public-frequented spot like Sathyam, only serves as a cherry on top.
