Movie shows get cancelled in Tamil Nadu for Jallikattu

The crowds of Chennai are stepping into their 3rd consecutive day at the Marina and crowds all over Tamil Nadu are gathered in lots for the 4th day protesting for a revoke against the ban on the bull-taming sport of Jallikattu. While talks between the state and the center are on for passing of an ordinance to lift the ban on the sport, movie shows in Tamil Nadu get cancelled in support of the Jallikattu movement. According to an announcement released by the Tamil Nadu Film Distributors Association, all morning and matinee shows across Tamil Nadu have been cancelled in movie theatres tomorrow i.e. January 20, 2017. This means all screenings between 8 AM to 6 PM not be showcased in any theatres tomorrow. This decision comes in light of the other film fraternity units like the FEFSI and the Nadigar Sangam also boycotting work to show their support for the ongoing intense movement.
