Kill Dil Trailer Review - “Tashan 2?”

Right from the first frame, I notice brilliant touches of artistic detailing: the poster of a cowboy hinting about the Western spaghetti inspired genre of the film; the black-and-white shots of killings as an attempt to create noir on screen and photo of Goddess Sarawasti in one such shot; those sepia-toned and neon lit visuals. However, despite of achieving all this, it appeals only as a Bollywood masala by YRF whose even “rawness” is slick and shiny.

The plotline (and one character name- Bhaiyyaji) seems heavily borrowed from YRF’s own Tashan. And the bromance between the lead hitmen Dev (Ranveer Singh) and Tutu (Ali Zafar) does remind us of YRF’s recent dud Gunday. Kill Dil also marks the return of Govinda and his liveliness on screen!

Synopsis of the film calls Parineeti’s character Disha “free-spirited”, and we see her in the trailer serving herself as an object of someone’s eye treat.

Dialogues for this masala entertainer sound razor sharp, especially, the one when Ranveer goes “tab se gun chala raha hoon jabse tu apne maa ke andar nahi, apne baap ke andar tha” will get all the seetis and taalis in the theater. Shaad Ali is back as director after years (his last was Jhoom Barabar Jhoom in 2007), and also brings Shankar-Ehsan-Loy with Gulzar for the music that keeps us expecting!

Kill Dil will hit the screens on November 14.
