When the teaser of Naaigal Jaakiarthai was released, people expected it to be a complete laugh riot. The team has smartly released a strikingly different trailer now, which actually shows what to expect from the film. The movie looks like a intriguing thriller revolving around women abduction.
Sibiraj's forte
Sibiraj fits into role of a tough cop aptly and he is always on the run to nab the culprits. One would wonder why did he choose to do run-of-the-mill comedy entertainers, when he could shine in such serious roles. Sibiraj is looking to get into the next big league with this film, after getting good recognition for his intense roles in Lee and Naanayam.
Idoh - The Dog
This is perhaps the first time in Tamil cinema that a dog has been given such huge importance in the film. Even in the credits below the trailer, Idoh's name appears first, followed by Sibiraj's name. There is not even one shot of the leading lady in the trailer, which promises that there wouldn't be any unwanted over-the-top love episodes in the film.
The technical team
It looks like the director of Naanayam, Shakti Soundar Rajan, is back with another tense screenplay, that will keep the audience engrossed throughout. The antagonists with masks add up to the curiosity about the plot. Kudos to him for utilizing Sibiraj in the best acceptable way too. Dharan's background score adds to the intensity of the scenes and let's hope he gets his due recognition henceforth. Praveen KL's editing is crisp and helps the director in conveying the mood of the scenes.
Final Words
If Naaigal Jaakirathai lives up to the trailer, we will be witnessing another quality film sans any commercial cliches this year.
