The trailer for Blast, director Subash K Raj's action drama backed by AGS Entertainment, is out and it makes a confident first impression.

What works immediately is the film's refusal to lean on formula. Arjun Sarja anchors a grounded family setup that gets violently upended, and the trailer earns its action beats by building emotional stakes first. The action here feels like a consequence of the story, not decoration around it, and that distinction matters.

Arjun brings his trademark commanding presence to the role, but the bigger surprise is Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan holding their own in the action portions. Both appear to have substantial, plot-driven roles rather than token appearances, a refreshing shift. The stunt work, choreographed by Phoenix Prabhu, looks grounded enough to be believable.

Ravi Basrur's background score, fresh off the KGF universe, does exactly what you'd expect: it charges every frame with propulsive energy without overwhelming the emotional beats. Arun Radhakrishnan's cinematography and Pradeep E Ragav's editing keep things tight and kinetic.

The supporting cast features Arjun Chidambaram, Dilipan, and Pawan, among others. Blast hits screens across Tamil Nadu via AGS Cinemas from May 28. On the strength of this trailer, it looks like one worth watching.
