Anticipation for Arasan has been high ever since Vetrimaaran confirmed that the film is part of the Vada Chennai universe. As the second schedule of filming is set to begin this month, reports suggest that actors Vikranth and child artist Kamalesh Jagan may have joined the cast, though an official confirmation is awaited.

The film stars Silambarasan in the lead, with Vijay Sethupathi playing a prominent role. Actors Andrea Jeremiah and Samuthirakani are also expected to reprise their Vada Chennai characters Chandra and Guna.

Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under V Creations, the film will mark the first collaboration between Vetrimaaran and composer Anirudh Ravichander, and also bring Anirudh together with Silambarasan for the first time. Further details about the cast and storyline are yet to be officially announced.
