It’s going to be a celebration year for Suriya fans as the star gears up for three major releases in 2026 — Karuppu, Suriya46, and Suriya47. With each film offering a distinct genre and collaboration, 2026 promises to showcase the actor’s incredible range and star power.

Kicking off the year will be #Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, which is shaping up to be a masala entertainer set around a courtroom drama. Suriya is said to play a commanding and charismatic role, bringing together elements of humour, intensity, and mass appeal. The film’s first single, “God Mode,” has already struck a chord with audiences, praised for its vibrant Gen Z energy and catchy sound. On the technical front, Karuppu boasts a strong crew — Sai Abhyankar composing the music, Anbariv choreographing the action, G. K. Vishnu handling cinematography, and Praveen Raja on editing.

Next in line is #Suriya46, directed by Venky Atluri, slated for a Summer 2026 release. This project is described as a family entertainer with heartfelt emotions, starring Mamitha Baiju opposite Suriya, along with Raveena Tandon, Radikaa Sarathkumar, and Bhavani Sre in important roles. Known for his ability to blend sentiment with engaging storytelling, Atluri’s film is expected to highlight Suriya in a refreshing, emotional avatar.

Closing out the year will be the much-anticipated #Suriya47, directed by Jithu Madhavan, best known for the Malayalam hit Aavesham. Currently in pre-production, with set work underway in Kochi, the film is a quirky action drama featuring Suriya as a ‘crazy cop’. Nazriya Nazim is rumoured to play the female lead — her first film alongside Suriya — while Fahadh Faasil is expected to portray a key negative role. The movie will also launch Suriya’s new production house, Zhagaram, with Sushin Shyam composing the music.
