Actor-turned-politician Vijay has released his first video statement following the tragic stampede incident in Karur.

In an emotional address, Vijay urged that if anyone wished to take revenge, it should be directed at him personally and not against his cadres. “I will either be at my home or office — don’t lay hands on my supporters,” Vijay said firmly. He explained that though he wanted to return to Karur immediately to console the bereaved families, he refrained out of concern that his presence might spark further unrest. However, he assured that he would soon visit the victims’ families in person. Vijay also questioned why such an incident occurred only in Karur while his other political events across districts went smoothly, adding that “the truth will come out soon.” Expressing gratitude to leaders across parties who extended support, Vijay hailed the people of Karur for voicing the truth on his behalf, calling them “Gods.” He concluded with a resolute message: “My political journey will only become stronger from now on.”
