Going by the release windows Netflix follows for Tamil movies, MovieCrow had predicted back in January that Retro's OTT release will be between May 29 - May 31, 2025. Now, Netflix has officially announced that Retro's OTT release date is May 31 2025. The Suriya, Pooja Hegde starrer directed by Karthik Subbaraj will be available to stream in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages with English subtitles. 

An action drama with a mythological touch, Retro follows the story of Paarivel “Paari” Kannan (Suriya), an orphan raised by a gangster (Joju George). How Paari faces betrayal and a violent cult, as he searches for his true origins, fulfils a prophecy, and tries to reunite with his lost love Rukmini (Pooja Hegde), is what forms the rest of the movie.

Retro completed 25 days of theatrical run this bygone weekend. The movie is a joint production venture of Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films, and also stars Joju George, Jayaram, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Vidhu, Karunakaran, Shriya Saran in a special appearance among others. 

The technical crew of Retro includes Santhosh Narayanan for music, Shreyaas Krishna for cinematography, Kecha Khamphakdee for action, Sherif for choreography, and Shafique Mohamed Ali for edits. The film comes with a runtime of 168. 30 minutes [2 hours 48 minutes 30 seconds].
