Suriya starrer Retro written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is a joint production venture of the actor and the director's. The movie with Santhosh Narayanan for music is gearing up for a grand audio launch event this April 18, 2025.

Ahead of the Retro audio launch, which is scheduled to take place at Nehru indoor stadium at Chennai from 5 PM, the makers have cautioned the public that passes for their event are not for sale, and to beware of any agency or individual trying to sell Retro audio launch passes. 

The official X account of Suriya's 2D Entertainment sent out a tweet on April 16, 2025 at 11: 10 PM IST, and it read,

Retro Film Audio and Trailer Launch Event Passes are NOT FOR SALE. We have not authorised any agency or individual to sell the event passes. 

We urge the audience and public to be cautious and not to buy or encourage fake passes!

Retro releases in theaters on May 1, 2025. So far, the movie has had three single releases titled Kannadi Poove, Kanimaa, and The One, all with lyrics by Vivek.
