Producer SR Prabhu is a well known name in the Tamil film industry, who is currently part of two banners namely Dream Warrior Pictures, that he co-founded with his brother SR Prakash Babu, and Potential Studios. SR Prabhu is known for giving Tamil cinema excellence like Joker (2016), Aruvi (2017), and commercial hits like Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Kaithi (2019). 

SR Prabhu also holds credit for launching one of Tamil cinema's leading directors today, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and being that rare producer who allowed the director to expand a cinematic franchise (LCU) beyond his production banner. SR Prabhu, in a gist is a Tamil film producer with an exemplary vision, and rightfully holds a place as the Vice President of Tamil Film Active Producers Council (TFPC-Active). 

Recently, the wave of negative reviews that came Kanguva movie's way prompted the TFPC to condemn tasteless movie reviews, and take cognizance of the fact that box-office collections of films like Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan, and Suriya's Kanguva were grossly affected due to the negative social media chatter this year. 

The active TFPC, in a four page statement called for theater owners to ban YouTubers from entering their premises, to stop scripted, or exaggerated reactions of moviegoers from being aired. A Vijay Fans Club handle with a 7K+ following reacted to TFPC's condemnation by insinuating that SR Prabhu as the VP was taking action, only because he is related to actor Suriya (SR Prabhu is the first cousin of actors Suriya, Karthi). 

@vijayfansclub4 also attached a screenshot from 2019 where SR Prabhu had replied to a twitter user, who had tagged SR Prabhu, Karthi, and Suriya, and lamented over accidentally booking Kaithi movie tickets, instead of Bigil, actor Vijay's movie. SR Prabhu had tweeted at that time that though the twitter user had the luck (to get the tickets of Kaithi, a movie SR Prabhu produced), he did not have the brains (to appreciate getting Kaithi film tickets). SR Prabhu's tweet though made in jest,  had not gone well with Vijay fans even in 2019. 

Replying to Vijay Fans Club, which had tagged SR Prabhu, TFPC and actor Suriya's official X handles, the producer stated, "My brother, you have been crying for 5 years just because I hit back one time. There is a lot of work to do for people (referring to Vijay's political entry), go help 'anna' (as Vijay is called by his fans) and look for the next job to do. Good man (Vijay), don't roam around spoiling his namel!!"
