Back in January, MovieCrow had reported of a potential collaboration between Tamil star actor Ajith Kumar, and Kannada star director Prashanth Neel of KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), and Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (2023) fame. Buzz back then suggested that Ajith and Prashanth Neel were collaborating on the actor's 64th movie i.e. AK 64 (tentative title). 

In recent times, it has been suggested that Ajith and Prashanth Neel are collaborating on not just one but two movies. AK 64 is said to be a stand-alone movie while Ajith and Prashanth Neel's second film AK 65, is expected to be part of the Prashanth Neel cinematic universe, and will lead to KGF: Chapter 3. 

Prashanth Neel's production banner Hombale Films and Ajith's PR Manager Suresh Chandra have both maintained that nothing is signed as of now. However word in the grapevine suggests that it is only a matter of time before official announcements are made.
