18 OTT apps banned by India's I&B Ministry under Anurag Thakur

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B) in India on Thursday blocked 18 OTT platforms for publishing obscene, vulgar, and, in some instances, pornographic content. An official update from the I&B Ministry under BJP's Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated that the banned OTT/streaming platforms were in violation of the IT act of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Indecent representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

  3. Yessma
  4. Uncut Adda
  5. Tri Flicks
  6. X Prime
  7. Neon X VIP
  8. Besharams
  9. Hunters
  10. Rabbit
  11. Xtramood
  12. Nueflix
  13. MoodX
  14. Mojflix
  15. Hot Shots VIP
  16. Fuji
  17. Chikooflix
  18. Prime Play

 

A total of 19 websites, 10 apps - 7 on Google Play Store and 3 on Apple Store and 57 social media accounts associated with these OTT/streaming platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube) have been disabled for public access in India.
