Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth's third directorial venture Lal Salaam is out in cinemas now and the movie marks the filmmaker's debut collaboration with her Superstar father Rajinikanth. At the Lal Salaam audio launch that took place earlier this month, Rajinikanth had said in praise of Aishwarya, 

"Aishwarya is someone who gives 100% love in return of 10% love you give her. When I was sick (and getting treated) in Rochester Mayo Clinic in USA, she came all alone there and took care of me for two and half months in America. There is no doubt in the fact that Aishwarya is my second mother.

 

(Rajinikanth's second daughter) Soundarya will not mind me saying this because at that time she had a new born baby to take care of...When you ask God for a boy baby, he'll point to the plenty nearby him to go one by one. But when you ask for a girl baby, God goes 'I myself will come' and appears as a daughter."  

 

Echoing this sentiment post Lal Salaam's worldwide release on February 9, 2024, Rajinikanth took to the X platform to share an image from 2016 when Rajinikanth underwent a renal transplant after 60% of his kidney was damaged. Aishwarya Rajinikanth was his sole care-taker at this point in USA, since bringing this health scare to limelight much less when back home the Kabali (2016) fever was in full spirits, would have been a publicity nightmare. 

Rajinikanth captioned the post, "My affectionate salute to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to almighty that your (honorific Tamil term used) movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success. @ash_rajinikanth #LalSalaam"
