Merry Chirstmas starring Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif in the lead is an upcoming Tamil-Hindi movie, and two trailer cuts of this film were released today. Unlike the norm where even if two separate versions of the same film are shot simultaneously as a bilingual, the trailer cut remains the same, the Tamil and Hindi trailer versions of Merry Christmas are entirely different from each other.

While both videos reveal that Katrina Kaif plays a mom of a girl child, the Tamil version hints that she was a single carefree woman who has been married to Vijay Sethupathi for a year now, and acquired her daughter through marriage. The Hindi version of Merry Christmas trailer reveals Vijay Sethupathi as a Tamil man in Mumbai, and there are hints of the girl child being no more.  The latter also reveals that this might have taken a toll on Katrina's psyche and Katrina-Vijay Sethupathi's relationship. 

Despite these details, Merry Christmas trailer videos do not reveal much about the plot and maintain thrilling suspense as with every Sriram Raghavan film. Also starring Radhika Apte in a pivotal role in both Tamil, Hindi and Daniel B. George for the score, Merry Christmas releases in theaters on January 12, 2024, in time for Pongal/Sankranthi in South India.
