Singapore Saloon: All about Lokesh Kanagaraj's role in RJ Balaji's film

Rowthiram (2012), Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (2013) director Gokul may not have had too much luck with Karthi starrer Kaashmora (2016) or Vijay Sethupathi starrer Junga (2018), but the filmmaker did manage to briefly salvage with the Helen (2019) remake Anbirkiniyal (2021). Gokul's next directorial is the RJ Balaji starrer Singapore Saloon in which in-demand director Lokesh Kanagaraj, will be seen in a special appearance.  

 

Latest we hear Lokesh Kanagaraj appears as himself in the movie and his role will be one of the special apperances along with another 10-minute cameo by an actor. Gokul and Lokesh Kanagaraj go back to their Dream Warrior Picture days, when the banner bankrolled both Kaashmora and Maanagaram (Lokesh's 2017 debut). The star-director's character drops in and out of the lead hair-stylist's saloon, and the Leo director is said to have immediately agreed to playing this celebrity role. 

Singapore Saloon is RJ Balaji's third film with Vels Film International after LKG (2019) and Mookuthi Amman (2020). The movie also stars Sathyaraj, Lal, Robo Shankar, Thalapathy 68 actress Meenakshii Chaudhary, Kishen Das, among others. The technical crew of Singapore Saloon includes Vivek Mervin for music, M Sukumar for cinematographyand RK Selva for edits.
