In 2023, actor Vijay Sethupathi seemed to have taken a diverse route, serving as the dialogue writer on Kulasami (Vemal), villain in Jawan (Shah Rukh Khan) and the voice-over character in upcoming movie Maaveeran (Sivakarthikeyan). Now, the actor has announced a new movie as a lead, and this film is titled Maharaja. 

Vijay Sethupathi's 50th, Maharaja is a production venture of Passion Studios and also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Natty Nataraj among others. The movie is written and directed by Nithilan Saminathan, who made his debut in 2017 with the crime thriller Kurangu Bommai.
