Actor Rajinikanth currently has three movies in his line-up - Jailer with director Nelson which releases August 10, 2023, Lal Salaam with director Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Thalaivar 170 (tentative title) with director TJ Gnanavel. The 72 year old has never officially spoken of retirement, but word has it that Thalaivar 171 (tentative title) will be the Superstar's last project.

We had previously reported that Thalaivar 171 will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sun Pictures is most likely to produce this movie. Director Mysskin who plays an acting role in Lokesh's ongoing project Leo, has now confirmed this collaboration. Mysskin has also mentioned about how Thalaivar 171 'could be' Rajini's last film, but maintained that he isn't sure how true these talks are.
