Thalapathy 67 (tentative title) is an upcoming project of actor Vijay's which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie is said to have been launched on December 5, 2022 but the makers are yet to make an official announcement. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj in a recent public appearance has confirmed that Thalapathy 67 announcement will be made only post the release of Vijay's impending release - Varisu, which hits theater screens for Pongal in January, 2023.

Team Thalapathy 67 has shot a test-promo with Vijay, and the video with film composer Anirudh's music is expected to be unveiled during the official announcement. Actor Vishal has confirmed that he declined to play the villain in Thalapathy 67 due to his other commitments; Arjun Sarja is on-board for a villain role.
The female star cast of Thalapathy 67 includes Trisha and Priya Anand, who were also spotted at the movie's launch earlier this month. Contrary to Lokesh's earlier statement that Vijay was not interested in Thalapathy 67 being part of the LCU*, not to mention the production house complication it involves, latest buzz is that crossovers from Kaithi (Karthi) and Vikram (Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Suriya) are most definitely in.
* LCU stands for Lokesh Cinematic Universe, and kicked off with the Karthi starrer action thriller Kaithi (2019) produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. Vikram (2022), starring and produced by Kamal Haasan had cross over characters from Kaithi, and both Kaithi 2 (prequel story to Kaithi) and a potential standalone film Rolex (Suriya) are all part of this cinematic world.
The post-theatrical OTT rights of Thalapathy 67 is with Netflix, while the digital rights of the movie's Hindi-dubbed version is with Sony Max. Sony Music South holds the audio rights to the movie, while Sun TV has bagged its satellite rights.
