On Spotify, Enjoy Enjaami appears as a single from Dhee, Arivu and Santhosh Narayanan. Further credits show that the song is written by Arivarasu T. Kalainesan, Santhosh Narayanan and produced by Santhosh Narayanan. However Arivu has now disputed this, and claimed on his Instagram page that he is the sole writer, composer of Enjoy Enjaami. His post comes days after the viral hit was performed sans him at the opening ceremony of 44th Chess Olympiad at Chennai by Dhee and singer Kidakuzhi Mariyammal. 

 

I “Composed” ,”Written” ,”sung” & “Performed” Enjoy Enjaami. Nobody gave me a Tune, Melody or a Single word to write this one. Spent almost 6 months of sleepless and stressful nights and days for everything it is right now. No doubt it’s a great team work. No doubt it calls everyone together . It’s all speaking to you in beautiful songs. Because we are a generation of blood and sweat turned into melodies of liberating arts. To add more context, Enjoy Enjaami has been at the center of credit-controversy, ever since Dhee, the voice behind the viral hit was featured solo on Spotify banner ads at Times Square, New York and sans Arivu on a Rolling Stone magazine cover. Arivu who appears alongside Dhee in the music video had voiced back then that even though the number was completely his work [that he had written as an homage to his grandmother, a landless labourer with a turbulent past], he was completely sidelined by music producer Santhosh Narayanan and his step-daughter Dhee.

Majja, that released the music video of Enjoy Enjaami on YouTube, was called out even a year back for not crediting Arivu the song's lyricist. To this date he is only credited as a 'featuring artist'. Several Kollywood names like Pa. Ranjith and director CS Amudhan expressed support for Arivu to little avail. Rolling Stone ended up featuring Arivu on a digital cover the next month but 'artist erasure' remains a debate to this date with Enjoy Enjaami.
