Episode 1 of MS. Marvel, the latest superhero series from the MCU has dropped on Disney Plus Hotstar OTT platform. Centered around an non-resident Muslim Pakistani household, Ms. Marvel is about a US teenager named Kamala Khan who is a superfan of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. How she discovers she was destined to be a superhero and what she does with it forms the rest of the series.
Pakistani-Canadian actress Iman Vellani plays the titular character and Bollywood actor Farhan Akthar also plays a key role. While the show reps the Hindi-speaking brown community hard, the Tamil-browns were taken by surprise when an AR Rahman composed Rajinikanth song played past the 4 minute mark of episode 1. The track titled Oh Nanba is part of a 2014 Tamil movie titled Lingaa and 10 seconds of the late SP Balasubramaniam's voice could be heard in the scene where Kamala crashes her car during her road test for driving license.
Episode 1 also has a scene that showcases why #Swedengate [a recent internet trend that exposed that the Swedes are generally not into offering food to guests/children] is never a debate in brown households.

Ms. Marvel comes with a total of 6 episodes and they release every Wednesday at 12:30 PM IST. Episode 2 that will release next on June 15, 2022 is expected to unveil Farhan Akhtar's character.
