Squid Game director confirms Season 2 with more Gi-hun!

Netflix's Korean series Squid Game had attracted viewers from all over the world with Season 1, and while fans were wanting more with the type of ending it had, Squid Game creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk had remained ambiguous about it till now. However at a recent event, the director has confirmed that plans are on for Squid Game Season 2 and that Gi-hun who played protagonist in Season 1, will be returning with more adventures.

“There’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice! But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen. So I will promise you this, Gi Hun will come back. He will do something for the world, Hwang Dong-hyuk said.

 

 

Squid Game followed a group of characters who are in deep debt and are enticed by a mysterious organization into playing deadly versions of children’s games, for a considerable cash prize. Season 1 ended with only actor Lee Jung Jae's character Seung Gi-hun making it out alive, and pledging to take down this organization.
