Last year, when Chiranjeevi replaced Pawan Kalyan to reprise Ajith's role in Vedalam Telugu remake, it was said that the National award winning Keerthy Suresh has been approached to play Chiranjeevi's sister in the movie.

Now it has been confirmed that Keerthy Suresh is indeed on board and she is said to have taken home the fattest cheque of her career for this role. Keerthy will be reprising Lakshmi Menon's role from the original and the Telugu remake will be directed by Meher Ramesh.

Vedalam which released in 2015 is about how a ruthless gangster who now leads a peaceful life, sets out to end a criminal network for the safety of his foster sister. The movie was written and directed by Siva.
