Down South, the Tamil and Telugu film industries are two independent and popular entities who share mutual admiration and respect for one another. Time to time collaborations between talents of Kollywood and Tollywood is not unheard of but off late, movie buffs are getting to witness a sudden spike in exciting Tamil-Telugu team-ups.
Here we bring to you a list of some such movies-in-the-making:
1. Vijay - Vamshi Paidipally
Known to the Tamil audience as director of Thozha, Vamshi Paidipally is expected to mark Vijay's debut in Telugu with his next movie. Telugu producer Dil Raju is already said to have locked Vijay's dates with a 'huge advance'.

While fans expected an official movie announcement this Tuesday, all they got was a birthday wish for Vijay from Vamshi.
2. Director Shankar - Ram Charan
It was officially announced in February that Tamil director Shankar will be teaming up with Telugu star Ram Charan for the latter's 15th movie. Tentatively referred to as RC 15 or SVC 50, the movie will be produced by Raju and Shirish of Sri Venkateshwara Cine Creations.

An official update on the rest of the cast and crew and when the film will go on floors is awaited.
3. Dhanush - Sekhar Kammula
Sekhar Kammula won a National award for direction for his debut film Dollar Dreams in 1999. He has since made Telugu movies such as Leader, Godavari, Happy Days, Fidaa and Dhanush will be acting under his direction for a Tamil, Telugu, Hindi trilingual.

Tollywood is also buzzing with the whopping remuneration (Rs. 50 Cr.) Dhanush, a multiple National award winner himself, seems to have charged for this production, which is being backed by Narayan Das K Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP.
4. Director Lingusamy - Ram Pothineni
It was in February this year that director Lingusamy of Anandham, Run, Sandakozhi, Paiyaa and Anjaan fame announced his new Telugu movie with actor Ram Pothineni.

Earlier today, it was updated that the final narration is done with and the movie is ready to go on floors.
5. A.R. Murugadoss - Allu Arjun
Producer Bunny Vas who is one of the partners in Allu Arjun's home banner revealed in the media earlier this month that the actor's line-up includes a potential movie with Tamil director A.R. Murugadoss.
6. Suriya - Boyapati Srinu
It is being reported in the media that Telugu director Boyapati Srinu has narrated an action thriller to Suriya, who has liked the script. Previously, Suriya was linked to Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas but the team-up never happened.
7. Lokesh Kanagaraj - Mythri Movie Makers
For a while now, director Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi, Master fame has been in talks to helm a Telugu film. It is being said that popular Telugu production house Mythiri Movie Makers has signed the director for a hefty sum and are currently on the look out for a lead.
