MovieCrow is making a series out of its 'Did you Know' corner, bringing lesser known movie related facts and today's item from it is about the multiple cast and crew changes in the hit movie Vada Chennai which released in 2018.

Vada Chennai was first announced with actor Karthi in 2010. Karthi was to play a fisherman-gangster and Dhanyanidhi Alagiri was to produce it. Even Anushka Shetty was roped in for playing a North Indian in the project. However it never took off and in 2011 Dhayanidhi tried reviving the movie with Silambarasan TR.

Script changes were made and Andreah, Rana Daggubati and GV Prakash (for music) were roped in as well. After a while Rana walked out of thr film and once again Vada Chennai failed to take off under Dhayanidhi's production.

In 2015 actor Dhanush decided to produce Vada Chennai and actresses Samantha and Andreah were brought on board. G.V. Prakash was replaced by Santhosh Narayanan for film's music. By 2016 Lyca Productions had joined in as the producer and Vijay Sethupathi too had come on board to play Ameer's character. However before the film's shoot could start, Samantha walked out citing date issues.

Amala Paul replaced Samantha but both her and Vijay Sethupathi walked out of the movie in 2017 citing delay in film's shooting. Eventually Amala Paul's role went to Aishwarya Rajesh. Vetrimaaran tried replacing Vijay Sethupathi with Telugu actor Ravi Teja but the role landed in director Ameer's lap.
