We have known for a while that director Gautham Menon and actress Trisha had been cooking up something for their quarantine audience and now a teaser of what has revealed to be their short film is out. Titled Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn, the video features Trisha as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (VTV) Jessie and is seen talking to Karthik (played by Simbu in VTV). Since the teaser's release Menon has opened up on the video stating,

"In recent times, all of us have been spending a lot of time at home and with family. Therefore, I have directed this short film so that creativity does not diminish. All of my team members have worked following social distancing rules.

Karthik Dial Seitha Yenn is a part of my script for Vinnai Thaandi  Varuvaya 2..Whether or not Simbu will play Karthik in this film is a surprise.."

The director has also confirmed that the short film will be releasing soon though an official date has not been announced.
