Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in the lead roles directed by Jagan Shakthi hit the screens on Independence Day. The film has done exceptional well in its opening weekend and has raked in Rs. 97.56 cr. Taran Adarsh shared the box office figures of the film on his Twitter page, He tweeted, "#MissionMangal sets the BO on fire..Springs a biggg surprise... Packs a fabulous total in its *extended* weekend... Metros superb, mass circuits join the party [on Sun]... Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr, Sat 23.58 cr, Sun 27.54 cr. Total: ₹ 97.56 cr. India biz" 

The film which received mostly positive reviews had a fabulous start at the box office by earning Rs. 29.16 cr on the first day. The film as emerged to be Akshay Kumar’s biggest opening day grosser as well as opening weekend grosser till date.

Mission Mangal is expected to cross the Rs. 100 cr mark today. It will be the fastest Akshay Kumar film to do so after 2PointO. Taran Adarsh also shared the list of Akshay Kumar's films to cross Rs. 100 cr mark in the shortest span of time at the Box Office.

Mission Mangal is expected to continue its steady run during the weekdays as well. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, HG Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale. It released alongside John Abraham starrer Batla House.
