The most awaited magnum opus film Kayamkulam Kochunni is gearing up for release on August 15 on the occassion of Independence day. The film will release in India on that day and will have a worldwide release on August 16. The makers are planning to release the film on a grand scale.

The film is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and written by Bobby and Sanjay. The star cast of the film includes Nivin Pauly, Priya Anand, Priyanka Thimmesh, Sunny Wayne and Babu Antony.  Mohanlal makes an extended cameo as robber Ithikkara Pakki in it. 

KayamKulam Kochunni is based on the life of Kayamkulam Kochunni, a famed highwayman who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor in the early 19th century Central Travancore during the British Raj. Gopi Sunder is scoring the music for this flick with Binod Pradhan cranking the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.
