Mersal is most definitely the hottest topic dominating the Tamil film industry now though there is an uncertainty around the release of the film for Diwali due to the ongoing financial confusion in the industry. Presenting to you some trending Mersal news headlines,

• The flashback period portions will run for around 50 mins and Vijay's character name in that segment is 'Thalapathy'. This episode is sure to be a big highlight for fans, assures director Atlee. He also said that 'Aalaporaan Thamizhan' hasn't been tweaked in Telugu as a Telugu anthem, as widely rumored.

• The film's first show (FDFS) is being planned around 3am IST on Oct 18th uniformly all over the world. There won't be any shows on Oct 17th IST.

• The screen count for the film WW is a whopping 3292 (inc. the Telugu version Adirindhi), as on yesterday night. More screens are sure to be added as the release date nears. 800+ screens release in Malaysia is a mighty new record. 350+ screens in Kerala is another record release.
