AR Rahman reacts to the Tamil songs controversy at the London concert

For those in the online populace, the recent furore over AR Rahman's inclusion of Tamil songs at his London concert is no new topic. What started off as a normal outrage (given that online outrage has become that trivialized these days), soon snowballed into what seemed like one of the worst online spat between the South and the North. After the storm that included people blaming Rahman for playing Tamil songs, demanding a refund for their ignorance, people pouncing back with the concert's title and playlist, people defending the musician with his ethnicity, media houses getting blamed for fueling racism and other such things, the man-of-the-hour himself has spoken out on the issue. Addressing the plight of some disgruntled fans, the Oscar-Winning composer has been quoted as saying :

"We try our best. We try to be honest. I love the way how people have supported for all these years without them I'm nothing. I'm grateful to all of them."

Interestingly, Rahman's same set of songs was appreciated by the crowd of New York, where the iconic composer was called to celebrate his 25 years in the musical industry. A couple from the audience has even been quoted as saying,

"We came for Rahman. Music is universal, the language doesn't matter"

Sure seems like the cue to end this debacle.
