Actor Journalist Cho Ramaswamy Passes Away
Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy better known as Cho Ramaswamy who was known to the public eye as an actor, journalist (editor of Thuglaq) and a political analyst passed away early this morning. A former Rajya Sabha member of the BJP, Cho was 82 when he passed. What's incidental is that he was admitted in the same hospital as late former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha and his death comes exactly a day and a half post hers. While on the cultural side he has written, directed and acted in over 20 Tamil plays, scripted 14 movies, directed 4 and acted in over 180; On the political side he has been instrumental in revolutionising many historic moves. (DMK-TMC alliance, Rajinikanth's favour of DMK, warning BJP against forging an alliance with the AIADMK, to name a few)
His loss was deeply mourned by the Kollywood populace and various political camps including the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Cho Ramaswamy was insightful, frank & brilliant. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family & countless readers of Thuglak.
