With Yennai Arindhaal what gautham had shown is a Journey of Sathyadev, at various stages of his life and how Esha, Hemanika, Victor , Thenmozhi was connected to his life. These characters in Yennai Arindhaal do have all the qualities that usually Gautham's flicks have. but you cannot expect it as to be another Kaka Kaka or Vetayadu Vilayadu, reason is KK/VV is a cop story that focuses on crime, where YA focus on Journey/Life of Sathyadev who is a cop.
Ajith as sathyadev steals the show and one reason why YA still looks fresh. Arun Vijay as Victor scores high. Loved the way gautham narrates the story and it is seamless. The emotional bond between the father and daughter is just beautiful with that unakenna venum sollu. The movie do have its own "Melisaana Kodu" kottuku intha pakkam first half taking us into the movie showing who is sathyadev. This is where Ajith acted in a "GVM film". & kottuku Andha Pakkam second half where the cat and mouse game of sathyadev and victor begins actually. here Gvm directs a "Ajith Film". Barring few cliches the movie is definitely a good watch !
