Sai Pallavi, Sam CS shine in this horror film
The story is predictable. There isn't much surprise beyond the first few minutes until the very end. But the tone and the mood set by the director and his team is very effective. The frames are drained out of warmth, even the so-called happy ones. The films frames are bathed in sombre blues and red...(more)

Sai Pallavi's stunning performance cannot save this confusing film
Sam CSs music has added much value to the film, the background score especially is haunting, which is exactly the feeling the film was aiming for but can never achieve.(more)

A predictable revenge thriller
Vijay has made Diya with noble intentions but the method of conveying the message somehow is lost in a ghostly conundrum. Such manipulative sentiments may work well with an average viewer but for others seeking a solid content, it may not be a satisfying experience.(more)

Diya is structured as a revenge thriller, the main difference being that it is the ghost of a child - an unborn one, at that - which is on a killing spree.
Diya isn't compelling enough. Vijay works with tropes that are too familiar - lonely apartment block, freak accidents, bumbling cops (the comic scenes with RJ Balaji are quite jarring compared to the sombre tone of the film), and underwritten characters who we never come to care about. These turn th...(more)
