Bangistan’s Fate – Will it be great?

This year we haven’t witnessed any out and out comedies expect for Tanu Weds Manu Returns and audience has started to crave for them again. Bangistan might just be the film the audience wishes for right now!

1^st Terror Comedy of Bollywood

Bangistan’s USP is that it’s the first ever terror comedy of Bollywood and is based in a place where blasts are a common occurrence which is a very new, interesting and a refreshing concept! In the trailer itself, we saw FcDonalds, Star*ucks instead of McDonalds and Starbucks along with very funny and witty lines. To top it all, there is also a goat!

Refreshing Plot

Two blundering terrorists with lofty ideologies (one Hindu and the other a Muslim), embark on a mission to change the world with suicide-bombing plans in each other’s territory. The comedy of errors between the two terrorists and the worlds might be hilarious to see.

Impressive Cast

The film stars the very funny Riteish Deshmukh whose comic talent has always been admired, PulkitSamrat who made his mark in the comedy film Fukrey and Jacqueline Fernandez whose still riding high with the success of Kick from last year. Bangistan also has veteran actors like Tom Alter andKhumud Mishra. Khumud’s double role might just be highlight of the film!

A Farhan Akhtar Production

The movie is also backed by the Farhan Akhtar’s banner Excel Entertainment and we have seen some experimental, out of the box movies like Fukrey, Talaash, ZNMD, Rock On from them previously. So Bangistan does carry that sort of promise too!

Social Satire

The film also carries a social message concerning the faulty ideologies of terrorists about hell and heaven and presents itself in a satirical form. The song Maula as a part of the film promos also suggests the same though a little more directly!

Looking at the buzz, Bangistan will do well at Box Office and will be able to make around 60-70 crores. For now, you can catch the trailer and decide for yourselves if you want to give it a try!
