The monsoon winds have hit all parts of India but the ones who are actually dancing in the rain are the makers of Baahubali and BajrangiBhaijaan. Both movies have grossed over 500 crores and are still running strong in theaters due to appreciation by both critics and audiences. Wow, what a landmark have these two movies achieved and that too releasing almost back to back! Only Aamir Khan starrer PK and Dhoom 3 have previously achieved this feet.

With BajrangiBhaijaan crossing over 290 crores and eyes set at 300 crore mark, it would not be wrong to say that it will soon be the highest grosser of all times overtaking PK.  Baahubali on other hand was an overwhelming surprise as its Hindi-dubbed version grossed over the 100 crore mark which is done by only three other movies this year. It also sets an accomplishment of the first South Indian movie to cross this mark amongst the Bollywood audience.

Saying business-wise, the first half of the year was very weak as only two movies got past the hundred mark namely Tanu Weds Manu Returns (150.77 crs) and ABCD 2 (105.74crs). However, things changed with the release of Baahubali and BajrangiBhaijaan. Even Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Drishyam’ has got an excellent word of mouth and grossed 30 crores in the first three days and is hopeful of better and better collections. With big movies like Brothers, Singh is Bling, Dilwale, Phantom, Welcome Back and BajiraoMastani set to release in the second half of the year and festive seasons ahead of use, it will be not be wrong in saying that happy days are here again for the Bollywood film-makers!
