Dolly Ki Doli Movie Review – Watch it for Pulkit, Rajkummar and Varun! One Time Watch

The best thing about Dolly Ki Doli are its super witty dialogues which tickle you every now and then. The worst thing about Dolly Ki Doli is rest of the script which doesn’t provide enough for the above mentioned. The debutant director Abhishek Dogra doesn’t disappoint you but also doesn’t leave you craving for more.

Sonam Kapoor plays a looteri dulhan called Dolly who makes rich potential grooms fall in love with her, marry them and robs them the next morning. She with the help of Raju (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) cons many including Sonu Sehrawat (Rajkummar Rao) and Manjot (Varun Sharma) until she meets her old lover in the now rough-tough cop in Robin Singh (Pulkit Samrat). What happens next is the rest of the story.

The songs are a treat. The title track is groovy and gripping. ‘Mera Naina Kaafir Ho Gaye’ by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan stands out and is the perfect romantic number of the season. ‘Fashion Khatam Mujhpe’ is also the item song of the season until Sunny Leone is out with a number of hers.

When you see the three dulhas, you say that no one suited the roles better. Pulkit Samrat is improving with every movie and is proving potential star value! Rajkummar Rao with his harayanvi dialect is amazing to watch. He shows again and again that is he a very very fine actor. Varun Sharma as Manjot repeats the Chucha act but fits the bill perfectly.

Even for the supporting actors, the casting has been spot on whether it is Bijendar Kala’s Jigyasa, Archana Puran Singh’s portrayal of the Punjabi mother in law, Rajesh Sharma’s screen presence or Zeeshan’s immense talent. But I refrain from the saying the same in case of Sonam Kapoor. Although she has improved a lot but still if it had been a better actress, she would have taken the character of Dolly to another level altogether.

In all, it’s a good time pass as it wraps up within 100 minutes or so. Also, the three dulhas and the excellent supporting cast carrying the Doli could be given a watch.
