The Shaukeens Music Review - “Not for music shaukeens”
Anup Pandey
Music: Yo Yo Honey Singh/ Vikram Nagi/ Arko / Hard Kaur
Lyrics: Sahil Kaushal/ Shabbir Ahmed/ Arko
1. Alcoholic
Yet another daaru/party song by Yo Yo with even filthier lyrics (Why do I even care about that?!) and this one is even lazily developed. Not even alcoholics will jump on the dance floors on this!
2. Manali Trance
From alcohol, it has now come to marijuana (What else do you think Manali refers to?). But trance is totally wrong genre for a ganja song. Neha Kakkar and Lil Golu don’t sound bad on that beats, though.
3. Ishq Kutta Hai
There is some good arrangement in this: guitar, sitar and violin. But Mika Singh’s vocals on downright preposterous lyrics wouldn’t let you care about that.
4. Meherbaani
The simplistic and pleasant tune in this romantic track comes as a fresh air for the soundtrack. Jubin Nautiyal, behind the microphone, does good job too.
5. Aashiq Mizaaj
Hard Kaur turns composer for this one. The obsession for EDM/techno continues. Nothing much to write about.
6. Lonely
Anu Malik is back as a singer and for a song not composed by him!!! Why he gets to sing this one lies in its irreverent treatment of being funny to this apparently sad song: the electronic Donald Duck-like voice and Malik’s Himesh-like jig in between the song tells you!
Bottomline
Just another factory churn-out from the kind of films that don’t care about music much.
