Happy Ending Trailer Review - “Govinda makes you happy”

Happy Ending’s trailer is just an extension of what you could’ve thought from its title itself - it’s full of double entendres and a film, unashamedly and unapologetically, looking for happy ending. (Look what I did there?)

Director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s second collaboration with Saif Ali Khan after Go Goa Gone where he played a zombie-hunter, Khan is back with his regular playboy character with a slight difference of being a writer in this one who looks like Bollywood version of a Woody Allen character. (Ah, those natural sunlight filled shots tell us more about the makers’ Woody Allen inspiration.) And, there’s one more Saif Ali Khan (a double role!?) that goes by the name Yogi. Ileana D’souza plays the lead lady. Ranvir Shorey, Kalki Koechlin, Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor seems to have smaller roles in the film. 

But, looks like the real star of the film is Govinda. His third film this year (after Holiday and Kill Dil) and he is in full form. Despite having stayed away from films for quite a few years, he still looks so effortless with his comic timing. 

It’s also a meta film about making a film. It constantly jokes about Bollywood rom-com clichés, kissing 
scenes, songs-dances and censor board. 

Sachin-Jigar’s racy songs fuels the trailer too and the soundtrack will be fun to hear, like Go Goa Gone.

Don’t know about the ending but looks like a happy film, for sure!
